Unclaimed Property Identification & Recovery Program
TLSG's Unclaimed Property Identification & Recovery Program ("UPIRP") is a comprehensive program that combines TLSG's Unclaimed Property Identification Service with its Asset Recovery Service. Through an intensive Initial Property Identification process ("IPI") TLSG uncovers sources that may be holding unclaimed funds for TLSG's clients. These sources include hundreds of Federal, State, City, County, US Territory and foreign jurisdictions, many of which are exempt from state escheat laws. Additionally, TLSG identifies outstanding payments from sources of which our clients' right to claim funds may be extinguished by the passage of time.
TLSG initiates this Program with an IPI to identify sources of outstanding funds that appear to belong to our UPIRP clients. The IPI is based upon a detailed analysis of our client's history, fictitious names and physical locations. TLSG then utilizes proprietary databases and software, legal research, manual investigation, and freedom of information requests, to locate these unclaimed funds from the sources identified during the initial step of the IPI. Once the property is identified, TLSG performs a "check and balance" review to substantiate that only 100% client owned property is claimed and collected.
TLSG then begins the collection process by assembling and coordinating with our clients all of the required supporting documentation necessary to recover their funds. Concurrently, TLSG prepares for our clients' execution all of the claim forms, affidavits, and certificates necessary to recover the identified property. TLSG is in constant communication with the issuer of the payment and closely monitors the process through the actual collection of funds by our clients.
